Gastroenteric @ work place + sunset @ Freo Dog beach

Recently, there's an outbreak of Gastroenteric @ work.. up to 3/4 of the resident caught the virus.. caused by one resident.. who met up with her relative from America.. caught the virus.. infected up to approx. 50 resident. incredible indeed.. source of spreading - Human, Airborne, Food, Poor hygiene.. etc.. Scary.. ended up.. resident got diarrhoea.. vomitting.. nausea.. fever.. chilling.. aching.. Carer got to gown up when entering their room.. n mask to be put on when interacting with infected resident.. Make it harder to breathe as the facility is pretty warm + humid.. especially when u are busy.. carrying out ADL, dining, washing, cleaning.. serving.. Pity those old ppl.. due to dementia.. some dont even know what's happening.. everybody got to stay in their respectives room.. not to loiter around the facility or out of their room.. After 2 weeks of battling with the gastro issue, finally some improvement... due to stringent hygiene control, cleaning, medication.. many resident had recovered from the flu...

Just cleaned up a couple of resident who are down with gastro.. smell really makes one feel sick.. just got back from work.. got a headaches after breathing in the foul smell.. cant help it.. not their fault.. it the virus.. haiyo.. gt to rest now.. taken panadol n heading to bed soon..

Bought huggy lim to freo beach to watch sunset.. haa.. he's enjoying himself to the fullest.. trying to coach him to the water.. timid boy.. 

End of RPH prac - Surgery ward for Orthopaedic

Got into RPH for my 10 days prac @ the Orthopaedic ward.. Was a fun, pleasant, enjoyable, and learnt lots in for this prac.. seen many pt in ward who had spinal injuries, foot, pelvic, #LNOF, bacteria infection, MRSA, VRE, MVA, old and young.. learnt about different kinds of medication and drugs, ADL, bladder scan, Catheter, wound dressing, Vac dressing, IV, PICC line, CVC (Central venous catheter), IN push, gelonet dressing, etc.. Met many nice and helpful nurses.. taught and learnt alot from them.. the most interesting day was on the last day of prac.. just right before heading off.. decided to head back to ward to bid farewell to the nurses in ward.. To my surprise.. ED happened.. one pt wife got into seizure, in a sec.. the nurses get the cardiac machine ready, chairs and bed removed, BP machine, doctor and nurses came to help.. IV line in, BP taken, recovery position, socks or any tight object removed, hudson mask on, injected some medication for stabilisation, check conscious level, when pt BP has stabilised, check of pt arousability, alertness and orientation, shortly, sent pt to the ED department for treatment.

While walking around in the city, one ABOR woman came walking by (Drunk).. knocked into emilly and accused Emilly for knocking onto her.. quarrel started.. ABor splashed the bottle of beer onto emilly.. got angry.. chased after her.. into jewellery shop.. Passer by stopped ... Pulled emilly away.. n off we go..dont wana anybody to get injury.. as the saying goes.. Do not squabble with a angry person.. After all the commotion.. decided to head for some nice lunch/dinner.. @ King st... The Burger bistro.. nice burger.. ordered Embella cheese burger + Mushroom burger + Chips.. Tink the burger @ Jus burger tasted better... although the burger is about the same size..

Nxt week, starting my prac in RPH.. Surgical ward.. sounds interesting and exciting.. believe there's much to learn from.. finger cross - everything will be fine.. Duty of care.. 

Went to Ciao Italia.. as usual..place as crowded..surprising shop open @ 5pm.. use to open @ 6pm.. Food prepared by Italia chef.. nice n friendly boss.. pasta n pizza portion.. huge + creamy + tasty + cheesy.. Dessert.. only tiramisu is nice.. the rest.. std drop.. but.. will patronise the outlet again..

Attended friend birthday party - took me an hour to reach there.. tired.. but..no choice..as promised gt to go..

mmh.. it has been weeks since i last updated.. life is busy as usual..sch.. work.. walk huggy.. baking.. meeting..etc...

Finally, I'm 25th.. cant believe.. n huggy.. has been with me for nealy 1.5yrs.. there's so many ups n down of life over in perth.. just within this 2 yrs in perth.. life + things + ppl + circumstances changes.. everything that happened.. bound to influence us in a way.. our mind sets.. perspectives.. 

Even though i'm not a fans of celebrating mine own BD.. but.. so long ppl rmb and send their well wishes.. that's good enough.. appreciated.. the saying goes: "its the thoughts that count".. 

Celebrated over few occasion..with different friends .. received a nos. of gifts.. from buddy.. xin.. snakey.. licia.. a.e.. n friends (Sg n perth).. nice n thoughtful of them.. 3 cakes ( 2 cheesecakes, 1 virtual fruitcake (over webcam), 2 european pillow (slp well - huge), perfumes, choco, porky socks, bookmarks, a couples of jersey, balls, cakey lug tag, opal polish (pinky), writable, cooked meal (pasta), meals,etc.. Delighted.. (^.^,)..

After finishing all the cakes, meals, treats.. gonna put on a couples of kilos.. haa.. gonna shed it away soon.. finger cross..

Taking some random shots @ uni.. this gonna be our prac for this semester.. Surgical ward.. hence we got to "dress up".. IV inj, SC, DD drugs, wound care, catheter, drug dosage, IM, insulin inj, etc.. looking forward for the prac to come.. believe no matter which hosp I'm attached too.. it God's will.. there's a reason why i'm there.. even though it might not be under my choosen list..

Baked this today - called "Lemon Bar".. indeed.. tastes like "Bar"..  Not hard.. but not soft either.. spongy.. n eggy.. with a touch of lemon..

Ingredients: 

Topping: 1 cup of flour, 1 tsp of baking powder, 1/3 cup of sugar (reduced), 4 egg, 1/2 cup of lemon juice

Base: 2.5 cup of flour, 1 eggs, 1/2 cup of sugar, 150gm of butter, 1 tsp of cinnamon, 1/3 of grated lemon rind.

Methods:

Preheat over 180 Deg C.

Base: Beat butter and sugar till pale and creamy, then add in eggs, lemon rind, cinnamon and flour. Baked for 20mins in the oven.

Topping: While waiting for base to be baked, whisk egg with sugar till fluffy, add in sugar, lemon juice, flour and baking powder.

When base is ready, add in topping. Baked for approx 30mins. Removed from over and cool on rack.. top it with icing sugar as required.

Trying to get use to "IT".. is there a solution ??.. thinking..

Huggy with headband..

   

Finally, first day of Spring.. end of winter..mmh.. nice n sunny weather.. took some random picture of hug today..wearing my pink n black headband.. haa.. so kawaii.. his kind of camera shy.. whenever i tried to snap a shot of him.. his alway trying to look away.. wierdo.. but.. he look so adorable in headband.. although he's suppose to be a BOY...

Life in perth.. besides sch..work.. friends and family.. nothing much to do..  @ times.. kind of misses my family.. ppl to hang around with .. to share.. that's life... dad provided me so many things that i could ever ask for.. understanding.. Love ya dad.. n definitely my sis.. although she tend to concentrate more on her audi..

Living together as a family.. is not easy.. there's lots of understanding..compromising.. to learn from.. tk time to nuture..

As the saying goes.. everything tk 2 hands to clap.. cant simply change things overnight..

Dislikes when ppl start adding words n tales in their story.. things that are partial true but not factual.. hope someday they will learn to keep their tongue to themselve and stopping telling tales around.. painting their own picture.. tarnishing other reputation.. whatever that happen to that person.. is their own problem.. not necessary for them to "help" in spreading it around..

Dont really like to be so negative about stuff and issues like this.. but.. surprisingly..after staying here for the past few years.. actually changed me .. many issues : ppl.. circumstances..etc..

This silly doggy of mine.. went swimming in the pond @ the park.. got himself infected with superficial skin infection...some red spot on his belly areas.. bought him to the vet.. was told -- several factors: Bacteria in the pond.. did not dry him properly after shower.. esp @ night.. moisture.. wetness.. leads to infection.. Vet took a scrap of his skin.. put under microscope.. diagnosed to be some minor bacteria.. Got some AB for hug -- called cephalexin (600mg).. similar to those that human consumed.. but was written --> for animal consumption..not human.. after taken for 2 days.. can c some improvement.. hurray.. thank god he's fine.. cant believe.. their AB is 5 times the price of our.. evil vet..btw.. animal body temp is generally higher than human - hug is 39deg..

 

This semester.. gonna hv my practical in Surgical wards.. sounds interesting.. in total - 14days of hosp prac.. attached to RPH and Joondalup.. RPH is fine..but Joondalup.. so far away.. nvm.. believe all things happen for a reason.. just got to accept and make use of it.. to the fullest..

Sch --> Presentation.. assignment.. test.. all in a row.. 1 presentation n 1 assignment down.. few more to go.. math test -cant believe it on 6th sep.. evil lecturer.. no choice.. just gt to do it..

Recently, a friend pop by perth for visiting.. bought W around.. as usual.. visited the common tourist place.. kings park.. hiliary.. margaret river choco fac.. beach..freo.. my place.. haa.. Ate at this nice restaurant called - Hippo creek.. finally found a place in perth that sell Escargot.. called Snail.. cooked with garlic + cheese + snail + turkish bread.. chewy.. n cheesy.. nice.. although not as tasty as those that i had tasted before.. but.. still.. yummy.. due to the ingredien: CHEESE.. found one nice place whr they sell nice "Caramel Popcorn Cheesecake".. one of the nicest i tried here.. located at leederville.. forgotten the name of the cafe.. will definitely drop by for another round.. yum.. ^.^..

Finally, sch commences.. plenty of assignment. reports to write.. presentation to present.. got to start taking more Ginko.. exercise.. to activate my "dead" brain cells..
