Almond meal friands

Recipe for Almond meal friands

Ingredients:

5 egg white

150g of unsalted butter, melted

2 cups of almond meal

1 cup of plain flour

3/4 cup of icing sugar

Methods

1) Preheat oven to 200C. Grease the muffin pan (approx 9 nos).

2) Place egg whites in a bowl, beat lightly with a fork. Stir in butter, almond meal, icing sugar and flour.

Spoon mixture into the muffin pan.

3) Bake friands for approx 20-25mins or till it cooked, turned golden brown.

Stand friands onto wire rack to cool. Serve it warm.

Review:

Taste alright, taste better when it is warm. Bake for approx. 15-20mins should be enough.

Recently, went for dinner at Real Flavor of India with Drew.. as usual.. tried diff place.. n give a grade/review on Urbanspoon..

Ordered naan (Garlic + Minty), Chicken curry, Lamb Rojaan.. Bri rice.. mango lassi.. yummy but real sweet n creamy.. overall service was good.. friendly staff.. meal portions was reasonable.. slightly spicy..salty but worth to pay a visit the nxt time round..

While bringing hug for his daily walk.. happened to bump into one of my neighbour who stayed down the road.. first things she said.. "O.. is that the escape dog".. haa.. i was puzzled.. and she explained.. "saw this white dog running on the street at night.. wonder how the dog escape".. haa.. so hug gt a nick.. that's funny..

Ytd, while walking pass the shops.. met another neighbour.. who recognized hug.. saying.. "O.. is that the dog who alway sits at the gate.. so adorable and passive".. haa.. she gt it wrong again.. as she doesnt know how mischievous hug is.. definitely..something up his nose..

Besides that.. just for update.. hug and me gt a warning letter from the city of gosnell.. haa.. regards to "Dog not on lead..running around the neighbourhood".. but basically.. its the neighbour dog that was barking furiously.. hug .. friendly as usual.. kept running over.. the owner gt frustrated..n started screaming at hug.. *pro us too.. pro 2 hours later.. the city counsel lady came.. and gave us a warning letter.. stating if nxt time round hug is found unlead.. will be fine Aud $100.. so ridiculous.. haa.. something to laugh about.. Dog have fines too..

Bake mega fruit custard tart for drewie & Mundaring Bell rapids.. Prac at PMH

As requested.. n fav or drew.. baked his Mega Fruit custard tart.. haa.. that's the biggest tray i can find to fit the tart..

Baked Mega Fruit custard tart:

Ingredients:

Pastry

2 cups plain flour
1/4 cup caster sugar
125g butter, chilled, chopped
1 egg

Custard

1 heaped spoonful of custard powder (or as per instructed on the box)

4 tps of sugar

1 tps of vanilla essence

1 cup of milk

Fruits:

Mango, Kiwi, apples (or as desired)

Extra:

2 tps of gelatine mixed with warm water.

Methods:

1) Mixed the softened chopped butter with sugar till creamy.

2) Add in egg followed by flour.

3) Grease a cake pan/ tray. Line base with baking paper. Roll out pastry and line pan with pastry. Refrigerate for 10 minutes.

5) Preheat the oven @ 200 C.

6) Place a shift of baking paper over the pastry with rice/beans on top so that the pastry will not be blotting up. Place it in the oven and bake for approx 10-15mins.

7) Remove the baking paper w/ rice and further bake for 5mins.

8) Cool the pastry.

9) Mixed custard powder and sugar and milk. Cooked it slowly over the pan till sugar are dissolved.

10) Pour onto the pastry and fridge it for approx 1.5hrs.

11) Sliced up the fruits as desired and lay it on top of the custard tart. Pour gelatine over it.

12) Refridge for approx 1hrs.

Went for a short hike over the weekend @ Mundaring Bell rapid.. This 5.5 kilometre unique Bell's Rapid circuit walk trail passes along the Swan River and is noted as one of the best vantage points for the annual Avon Descent white water event with its rushing waters in winter. Walkers can enjoy scenic views of Bells Rapids, the country side and coastal plains, with beautiful grey kangaroos at certain times of the year. Did not get to see kangaroo..but plenty of poos was found along the trail..

As usual.. while walking .. headed off track again.. took a short cut.. arrived 1/2 way up the hill.. started pouring heavily.. got to run all the way to the top.. our destination.. finally..gt there.. as it was raining.. scenary was kind of being covered by the mist.. dissapointing.. but fulfilling trips.. as we conquer another hill..haa..along the way down...found a skeleton body of a dead kangaroo.. believe must hv being there for ages.. as it left with only the bones.. no flesh at all..

Finally, my prac at PMH ended.. was a 2 weeks prac in Oncology ward.. looking after paediatrics with cancer.. such as Acute Lymphoblastic Leukaemia, Acute Myeloblastics, Wills Tumor, Neuroblastoma, etc.. most kids are diagnosed with Leukaemia.. means cancer of the blood.. parents are alway there.. by their sides providing support and care.. some kids are so young.. youngest i seen in ward was a 17 Days old infant.. poor boy.. diagnosed with cancer at such a young age..but.. they said that.. its alot easier for children to recover fully from cancer in comparison to adult.. relieved to hear that.. basically..learnt lots from the prac.. various medication.. policy and guideline.. hygiene.. sterile condition.. infection control.. vital obs.. drawing of blood sample for testing.. care and support for kids.. n parents.. it was a nice experience..besides meeting some nurses who are "cocky" and "fake" and "bitchy".. some are nice too.. :)... My conclusion.. paediatrics might not be my cup of tea.. c how it goes.. you nv know the future.. only God knows.. haa..

Now.. busy finalising my care plan.. clinical competencies.. and gonna start planning to build a roof for huggy.. big project on it way..

Sunday was hug 2nd birthday.. he was born on the 29th May 2009.. bought hug a nice big rose toy.. gave it to him before i headed off to work.. came back..as usual.. left with fragments of roses.. here n there..all over the floor.. not unusal.. thank god he did not chew on the metal stick.. silly hug.. on his Big day.. Drew & I brought him to Kings park for a walk.. nice n cooling weather..then after.. headed home.. D parents got him some icecream..n cake.. as usual.. finish till the last drop.. licked it clean and shiny.. haa.. decided to make a video for hug.. on his achievement for his performance.. mixed of sit.. roll over.. mouth.. play dead..over the loop.. hop.. crawl.. n not forgetting his fav.. eating..

Besides preparing for exam.. which is next monday... prepared dinner too.. mixed of western and mexican.. haa..i suppose..

had Roasted capisum w/ cous cous.. spicy wedge.. Mortadella chilli ham.. brussell sprouts..mixed veg.. sunny side up.. n chilli pappadum..n Kiwano.. a unique watermelon that hv spike on it.. tasted like jelly.. aloe vera.. tomato..??.. unique taste.. topped w/ some honey for sweeter taste..

Today.. after revised for sometime.. decided to bake Lamington.. w/ choco and also pandan flavor..

Ingredients:

125g butter - chopped

1/2 cup of sugar

2 eggs

1 tps of vanilla essence

2 cup of self raising flour

1 tps of baking powder

1/2 cup of milk

2 cup of dessicated coconut

Extra: Pandan essence

Icing:

4 cups of icing sugar

1/2 cup of cocoa powder

2/3 cup of milk

20g of butter

1) First, preheat the oven @ 180 deg c, lightly grease the pan (18X28cm) with baking paper.

2) Beat the butter and sugar together till pale and creamy, add in 1 egg at a time and beat well. Beat in vanilla essence.

3) Sift flour, baking powder and cocoa powder together. Lightly fold in creamy mixture and milk alternatively, ending with flour mixture.

4) Split the mixture into 1/2 if you like to add in pandan essence. Spoon mixture into pan, smoothen the top and bake for appro 30 - 40 mins, till cook. Use a toothpick to test. Cool pan in oven for 5 mins before placing on cooling rack to cool.

Icing : Sift icing sugar and cocoa together into a large heat-proof bowl. Stir in milk and melted butter. Place bowl over a saucepan on a gently simmering water. Heat gently till icing sugar dissolves and mixture is smooth and runny ( for coating consistency).

5) Spread dessicated coconut on a shallow tray. Cut the cake into shape as desired and dip each cake into icing mixture, drain off excess and roll in coconut to coat. Place on a tray to leave to set.

Times flies.. so busy over the past weeks... hardly hv time to sit down or even update my blog.. missed all my families n friends in SG.. arr.. wish u were here.. but got to move on.. that's life..

Just a random updates.. as usual.. doing the norm things.. uni (coming to an end for this sems as exam is coming).. work (in both hospital *occasionally and also my JB).. out with drew.. n friends.. with hug *daily.. due to the busy and hectic schedules.. no time to continue with my baking session..

Recently, travelled down south with friends to Albany.. climbed Bluff knoll @ stirling range (Approx 3000m walk + climb to the mountain top - took us about 4 hours in total).. worth the climb.. fulfilling with a sense of achievement.. seen the most alluring and awesome starry night in the whole universe.. believe you will never ever see such a starry night in your whole life.. if only you are in Albany.. too bad.. cant capture the night with my samsung WB 650 camera.. haa.. but memorable experience.. visited "The Gap".. managed to capture a picture with a beautiful arch rainbow after the rain.. Valley of the giant walk.. glimpse of the various giant tree.. ate at the lavender berry farm - had the most delicious lavender berry pancakes.. had fun..

Visited Perth zoo a couples of days ago.. was a nice experience.. to see what sort of animals/ creatures Oz have.. orang utan.. iguana.. kango.. lions.. bald-head bird.. spoon bill bird.. snakes.. pythons.. sun bear..tasmanian devil.. elephants.. etc.. however.. feel that SG zoo is still the best.. more entertainment and reasonable priced.. with plenty of activities and interesting program organised..

Taught hug a new trick.. crawl..haa..and he crawl like a army boy.. this coming sunday.. he is finally..turning into a teenageboy..2yrs old = 14yrs old.. pro gonna buy him a cake or teddy.. haa.. recently.. brought him to a couple of new places.. such as kalamunda dog playground.. good and spacious place for him to run around.. freo beach.. hestor park.. champion lakes.. etc..

It had been awhile since i last updated.. cant help it.. due to the hectic schedules.. work.. uni.. life... enjoyment..haa.. life is pretty much the same.. mon - wed uni life.. assignment.. presentation.. prac comin soon.. this sem gonna be maternity & paediatric..

Recently visited a nos of new cafe & restaurant.. that's my hobbies as usual.. trying outnew stuff.. my philosophy in life.. Life is short.. hence live ur life to the fullest and enjoy every bits of life..

First place - Mary chutney

Serve nice traditional indian food.. tasty and yummy lamb curry, rice, yoghurt.. a varities of flavors for you to choose from.. read from somewhere.. the reason why ppl have yogurt with curry .. as yoghurt helps to reduce the spiciness in it.. hence u will never numb ur taste buds..

2nd place: The kinky lizard

The first thing that comes into my mind is xin.. haa..coz she loves lizard.. n kinky stuff *Jokin.. wanted to go to "Toast".. however.. not sure how.. landed at kinky.. therefore decided to settle with Kinky as the name sounds funny.. had kinky beef burger + ice coffee + smoothies for emi.. burger taste pretty good.. however.. smell like beef after the meal.. haa.. worth petroling nxt time round..

3rd Place: Govindha place

Basically, a indian restaurant open by a western lady + indian lady.. their food are pretty simple.. curry veg.. papaddadum.. rice.. rice pudding.. juice.. but... it cost only $8 for student... n its a buffet.. haa.. thou they dont hv much varieties.. still considered cheap.. worth it for student who just want to fill their tummies..

4th place: Heavenly plate @ Applecross

Seriously dint know that place is a vegetarian cafe.. after i ordered the meal.. my friend told me this is actually a vegetarian place.. i was .. mmh.. tasted the food.. not bad.. cant even tell its a vegetarian restaurant.. as the food they serve looks fantastic.. had thai style spaghetti.. coffee.. tofu chicken (imitation).. jap style chicken burger.. tiramisu hot chocolate.. overall - 7/10... nice place.. this is a newly opened cafe.. pro 3 months ago.. friendly boss..

5th place: Toast

Finally this time round.. manage to get to the right place.. toast.. read from some mag.. said a must try for their crepes.. hence headed down to toast on sat.. with drew.. had toasted almond rubhurb + raspberry crepe, savory ham & cheese with ricotta crepe + coffee (Long black + Cappucino)... overall.. nice and serene place to chill out on weekend.. river view.. however.. feel that the crepes and pancake @ pancake place taste better.. haa..

Place 6th - Indonesian cusine @ Vic park

This place is located next to burger bar @ vic park.. heard that their "Teh tarik" is nice.. hence decided to have lunch there.. ordered nasi mee goreng, Black glutinous rice w/ coconut milk, and teh tarik.. overall rating = 7/10.. tasty..n reasonably priced..

Besides all food.. did some outdoor activities too.. haa.. went for bush walking @ kalamunda national park.. did the 5km bush walking grade 5 trail... fun n enjoyable experience.. got to walk thru rocky path.. smooth.. downhill.. following the blue arrow pasted on the trees.. if you happen to follow the wrong arrow (yellow).. it might bring you all the way down to albany.. while walking.. nearly gt lost..but eventually.. with the help of iphone GPs.. maange to get on the right track.. took nearly 2hrs to complete the trail.. arrived safely at our destination - rocky pool..haa.. but because is summer/ autumn.. hence it a Dry pool.. doesnt matter.. was a fun trip.. thenafter.. headed to lesmurdie falls.. thought it will not dry up..since its a waterfall.. however..to our dismay.. its dried up.. haa.. brought along our swimwear..too bad.. cant make use of it.. nonetheless.. took some nice pic.. with beautiful scenic view..

Finally finish updating.. now heading to uni to watch some video for my clinical evaluation form.. Arr.. sometime.. think God works in a mysterious way.. what we need to do.. is to learn to stop and listen.. follow accordingly.. not by our own intelligence.. but with God guidance.. this is something i need to brush up on..

Life in perth..work.. play with hug.. hanging out with friends.. n uni gonna start next week.. glad that more things r comin up.. b prepare n ready for the upcoming race..haa..

Sat.. went for a Fremantle prison tunnel tour.. was fun.. get to climb 20m down.. n walk with a hunch.. scratching our helmet against the limestone.. waddles in puddles of water *suppose to be like this only in winter..not summer.. something is wrong with the weather.. n climate.. saw many cockroaches..thank god they din fly.. n also.. RED back spider.. they r poisonous.. found one in my garden today..while cleaning up.. so scary.. quicky.. ask hug to stand one side while i kill it.. gross.. anyway.. was a fun n fulfiling tour.. get to learn about the history of freo.. convicts n prisoner.. their hardship.. punishment..etc.. gt a chatty n funloving tour guide.. gave us a good tour in the tunnel..headed for some fish & chips.. with drew n abi..

This morning.. gt a shock of my life.. was cosl sleeping in bed.. out of a sudden.. heard a loud thud.. saw huggy..with bird feather in his mouth..n one birdy..was injured.. pro by hug.. not sure thou..as it was strong wind out there.. many possible reason .. not sure if huggy was trying to play or thinking to devour the bird.. stopped hug in time before he actually put that birdy into his mouth.. reprimanded hug.. he is so cruel.. told him he shld nv ever place any live object in his mouth.. it bad n barbarian-liked.. left him alone after tat.. had my breaky.. coolz down.. n gave him some food to eat.. aRr.. i feel so sorry n sad for that bird.. got to discard it away.. heart melted when i c that birdy..slowly.. dying ... still lingering in my head.. mmh.. thank God we r human.. hopefully..we will nv b like animal.. in the near future..

My maternal grandma alway celebrate her BD during CNY.. as usual.. 5th aunt will booked the function room at her place for celebration.. everybody.. will definitely pop by for the celebration.. it granny 80th birthday..we had buffet.. plenty of foods.. desserts.. huge tiramisu cake.. lou hei.. drinks.. etc.. realised..as ppl get older.. they became milder n more passive..haa.. love her ...they dont talk much.. just simply sitting around.. looking at all her children.. grandchildren n great grandchildren.. they r easily contented.. mmh..

After grandma Bd celebration.. went to chalet with xin n jane.. that's what we usually do..booked a chalet just for the 3 of us.. ha.. trios.. walked around.. chatting..catching up.. took the mini ferries wheel.. more for kids.. haa..but since it FOC.. n voucher to redeem.. went for the rides.. ate BK.. as they dont hv BK here.. only hungry jack..missed the mushroom swiss burger.. but realised that it had shrunk.. so thin n tiny.. no wonder ppl are getting skinnier there.. like my friend Jane..haa.. joking.. watch some antique movie downloaded by xin.. fell aslp while watching as it as too long.. next morning..had breaky..n headed for church service.. so busy.. after service.. went to Jane place for CNY.. self made popiah.. played new version of card monopoly..so fun..Arr.. forgotten to buy one back.. wasted.. had great time.. catching up with sec friends.. thenafter..rushed to winy house.. played majong for awhile.. yeah.. i won..with B2 at my side.. we will definitely win..of course.. with the help n assistance of the pro.. winy's mom..

Got to rush back home..get change for the anniversary celebration of my parent.. 28th i suppose.. dad said he wants steamboat.. so we went to this guo fu steamboat @ raffles place..recommended by sis.. as its in mini steamboat style.. ordered a varieties of soup.. there's male vitality soup..beauty soup.. mala soup.. herbal soup.. only $25 ++ person.. total bill = $220 for 6 people..

Next couple of days.. simply catching up with friends.. for coffee..tea or anything.. pool session.. celebrated our trios birthday together @ MOF.. food was considered average.. recommendation = once is enough.. got a happy birthday candles to celebrate our birthday.. all-in-one.. for the year of 2011.. found this guinea pig called "skinny pig".. in the pet shop.. looks so raw.. n with albino eyes.. scary.. can see the skin moving up n down..when its breathing.. oo.. scary.. cost $158.. poor piggy without skin.. n almost hairless..

Bro came and picked me up.. headed home.. get changed.. n went to licia place for dinner.. 2aunt.. knows pork trotter is my fav... haa.. so she prepared it for me.. so nice of her..love her to the max.. tasted as yummy as usual.. asked b2 to come along..as we are all going to KPO after dinner.. haa.. lucky of her..to get to taste the pork trotter prepared by my aunt.. as this is the best in the whole world.. ahjie came along after dinner..had a bottle of red wine.. chill.. n went to KPO to meet up with the rest.. its a cousin..aunt.. friends chill out session.. after KPO.. joined cd n cousin to phuture..to meet up with bird n friends..

Before departing back to perth.. bro n sis took off for the day.. went to upper thomson road.. to fulfil our wish.. of buffalo wings.. tried level 4 + 5 + 6 (that's the ultimate level).. the restaurant was opened by a guy from perth.. named steven.. his shop name is called "Stevos".. migrated to SG 5 yrs ago.. started this business.. orded salads.. pasta.. buffalos wings.. n drinks.. tried level 4 & 5.. not that spicy..or uneatable.. told the owner.. n he gave us the ultimate level.. saw him added in some chili oil.. just a tiny taste.. you can fill your throat n tummy burning.. started perspiring.. bro tears actually came rolling down..haa..it was a hilarious sight.. both my sis n me..was laughing our head off.. sis said her throat was burning..mine was after effects.. after the meal.. felt vomitus.. as it got into my stomach.. was pretty spicy..but not that tasty.. would be tastier if the wings was steaming hot.. had a fabulous time.. enjoyed the wings session.. thenafter.. to airport n back to perth..

Started work the very next day.. til now.. not a break.. mmh.. as it time to work after 3.5 weeks of full relaxation n fun.. missed my families n friends.. but.. juz got to move on.. sch gonna commence in 2 weeks time.. got to get ready soon.. my huggy with his BB tie..

CNY 2011 in SG.. with Families

Finally.. after 2yrs.. went back to Sg for CNY.. had a great time.. eating..visiting..meeting up.. travelling... having fun all day long.. for the whole 2 weeks.. Had a scrumptous reunion dinner @ ah ma place.. as usual.. steamboat styles.. n everybody got to bring a plate.. even 2 long table is not enough for all the food n us.. gathering for young to old.. happily chatting.. updating.. eating.. joking.. playing firecrackers.. taking shots with my WB650.. haa.. so happy to be back..

The next day.. will be our CNY.. everybody gets up early.. dressed up.. n get "Ang Bao" from parent.. haa.. thenafter.. first stop..ah ma place.. follow by church.. visiting the elderly.. grandma sibling.. dad cousin.. aunties n uncle..lunch at the prata place @ thomson.. back for house visiting.. relatives.. back to ah ma place for a rest..then to maternal grandma place.. meet up with cousins n aunt @ party world for a round of 4 hours singing session.. although i dont sing.. but due to the crowd demand.. juz go for it.. as usual.. the singing queen of the night is definitely my porky sis.. she took control of the mic for nearly 3.99hours.. as she knows almost all the songs.. was so tired that i fell aslp while they were singing.. think age is catching up.. however.. did enjoyed the singing session.. its alway fun when family are together.. no matter what you are doing..

Following day..to JB to visit my eldest aunt n uncle.. got lost.. wait for help.. found n headed towards their place.. had a great time.. took tons of pics.. everybody happily.. busily chatting.. relaxing.. chilling.. went with cousin to their cousin place to purchase some rockets.. n firecracker.. wao.. it was so fun.. but scary.. got to lits n run away as fast as u could.. as the explosion is pretty loud.. by accident.. dad stucked the fire rocket too tight to the pole.. ended up.. blown the pole apart.. even the base of the pole was gone..after the explosion..haa.. funny..headed for lunch at the nearby restaurant... then back home about 7pm.. whole day gone..but fulfiling.. as this year.. everybody gathers together n went for CNY visiting.. so coolz.. love it..

For the first week.. emilly came over to singapore for a week..therefore.. i'm a non-certified tourguide..haa..even thou i myself..feel like a tourist too..as there are so many changes in SG.. hardly recognize the area.. even the mall around my place.. under renovation.. over the past 1 week.. visited a nos. of places.. esplanade..marina sqaure.. marina bay sands..universal studios (although it was raining the whole day, managed to tk a couple of rides.. mummy roller coaster, watch shrek 4d.. train rides.. eaten the cheesy popcorn, etc)..zoo (saw the white tiger pooing.. that was hilarious.. poo like huggy, elephant show, wildlife show)..geylang for supper (Dim sum + Durian - with Jane, xin, chris, emi n me)...town area.. chinatown (fish therapy - so tickish.. haa.. but if u leave it in for abt 5mins, you will kind of get use to it).. party nite with my family, cousins, buddy, and her cousins.. had a great nite..except for some random issue (arr.. hope it will nv happen)..ate a yummy jap buffet dinner @ Miramar hotel.. worth it.. assorted sashimi.. sushi.. shishamo..my fav.. tempura..udon.. noodles.. etc.. eat till we drop.. headed for jap icecream along clark quay.. was sitting along the river.. saw the extreme ride bungee ball.. decided to hv a go.. wao..it was so cool n scary.. as they bring u right up.. pro 11 storey or higher.. by releasing the lever.. we will be swinging from the extreme left to the right..a couple of times before we landed safely back on land..was indeed fun.. *licia gave excuse saying she need to work the next day.. as she dont dare to tk the ride..left with my daring sis emily n me.. mmh.. also met up with pastor rony for lunch.. enjoyable.. talk about anything.. find that they r a loving couple.. chatty and nice..

Finally back to SG.. hardly hv time to update.. so busy with so many stuff.. meeting families n friends.. chilling out.. fun n enjoyable till date..

Before departure.. @_@ fresh..

Right after arrived in Sg.. departed to taipei 5hrs later.. haa.. hectic..managed to pop by the salon to get my hair fixed.. n then off to taipei.. 4D3N.. fun n enjoyable.. first night in taipei.. headed to ximending night market.. just 10mins walk from our hotel.. stayed in Riverview hotel.. 5-star.. up to my expectation for a 5star hotel.. clean n tidy.. nice customer service.. although ppl do not speak english.. they r pretty friendly.. ate lots of local delicacy.. dumpling..bun.. oyster noodles.. rice n yam cake.. bubble milk tea..Plenty of nice shoes n clothing too..

Day 2 - headed to Taroko gorge fall.. took a domestic flight..approx 30mins from taipei kaoshiung airport to hualian..glad to hv a knowledgable and friendly tour guide.. she brought us to many tourism attraction.. taroko gorges.. red bridge.. tunnel of nine turn..swallow tunnel.. marble factory.. jade factory..aboriginal village.. ate bamboo rice for lunch.. drank from a black piglet cup with tasty rice wine.. Visited the rice cake factory.. plenty of varieties.. peanut.. sesame..green tea.. red bean.. chestnut.. charcoal..

Then after.. took a train..approx 2hrs back to taipei.. all was pretty hungry.. headed for korea BBQ.. traditional BBQ style with addtional hotpot at the sides.. tried diff part of beef..mutton.. squid.. tempura.. etc.. ate till we drop..haa... headed for a short walk at ximending again..to digest our food.. shopping again..haa.. as it the winter season..hence nothing much to buy..

3rd day.. Shop around our area and SOGO.. Found an interesting vietnamese cafe..drank the most interesting vietnames coffee called the "balance syphony coffee"..uses the balance of water.. fire..heat and air to brew the coffee.. delicious NY cheesecake and black squirky pasta.. before heading to Yangmingshan national park + hotspring.. once again..Got a friendly and chatty tour guide.. had a fair amount of rain.. but.. did not stop us from heading to visit yangmingshan.. arrived right on time.. to hear the big gigantic flower clock chimes.. with some chinese music.. walked around the park for awhile.. saw an adorable and flurry dog.. looks so gentle.. aRr.. cant resist but snap a shot of he/she (*unknown sex - haa)..Headed for hotspring after the walk in the park.. sulfur smell overpower us..nearly fainted.. as we left the hotspring water tap running.. nearly fainted after 40mins.. supposely.. should not exceed 25mins soaking in the water.. sides effect are feeling dizzy.. vomit.. Hotspring are meant to be good for our body circulation.. revitalise..rejuvenate.. and soften our skin.. indeed.. beside the point of feeling dizzy n gonna thrown up.. feel kind of fresh after resting for awhile.. tour guide even brought us to visit the hotspring museum and the famous public hotspring in that area called the "hotspring of hell".. due to the vaporisation of the vapor.. it makes the whole area looks like hades.. that's how it got it names.. Drove about 40mins.. to shiling market.. bought the famous pineapple tarts..crackers.. and ate plenty of food.. such as "Huge Chicken Cutlet".. was huge indeed.. oyster mee suan.. smelly beancurd.. fish.. long shopping street.. walked for nearly 2hrs.. sat down again and hv some mutton soup.. yummy..

Day 4.. Visited the flower spring festival.. as told by one of the cabby driver.. he said its a must see event since we are here.. plenty of flower decos.. exhibition to see and pictures taking session.. realised it a long quene into order to get in..ended up.. simply walked around the area.. visited the garden.. mini water feature.. teahouse.. exhibition.. mini concert.. and headed straight to Building 101.. tallest bldg in taipei.. it was indeed tall and magnificent.. shops - mainly branded stuff such as gucci.. prada.. burberry.. etc.. parent was tired.. so was us..sat down at a paris restaurant for coffee and cakes.. Coffee: Espresso + Cafe latte + Long black..Cakes: Black sesame w/ green tea cake + Choco lavare cake.. rating: 6/10..

Crabbing in Mandurah + Deep crust pizza + Baked nectarine ricotta cheesecake

Read from the paper about deep crust pizza, find it interesting. Popped by on monday to crust gourmet pizza shop located in subiaco. From the paper, the pizza seems to be thicker and deeper. However, to my dismay it is only the crust that is deep (High and long - perhap 4 times the height of a normal pizza) not the whole pizza (i meant the ingredients). Overall rating - 7/10 as it tasted yummy.. but too oily for consumption on a weekly basis.

When to mandurah for crabbing ytd, gt a couple of crab scoop, pail, and torch light.. ready to catch.. Checked and headed to mandurah peel inlet for crabbing.. Was scooping around with Abi for nearly 2 hours, full concentration focusing in the water.. spotting for crab.. Rules is to put all crab under the size of 12cm into the water.. Initially, found a couples of crab.. as we are unskilled crab catcher.. took us awhile to master the right technique.. Conclude.. as crab walk side ways.. Abi and me are to follow their movement.. catch them side way.. hence each person to attack on one side L & R.. so the crab will have no way to escape.. At the end of the day, caught about 6 crabs.. but missed about 5 crabs.. For our last catch of the day.. as we were too excited.. by accident.. broked one of the crab pincher while cramping the crab with our scoope.. poor crabby.. became a handicapped crab.. Thenafter, headed to rockingham - peron point.. planning to catch more.. by the time we reached peron point in rockingham.. it was already 9pm.. too dark and late to catch any crabby.. drove further down.. happened to pass by Palm beach jetty.. surprised to see many crab hidden under the jetty.. saw starfish and jellyfish.. heard from others.. there are sharks too.. too bad.. the water was pretty deep.. cant actually walk around with our scoop.. *moral - rmb to bring crab net next time round when going to palm beach jetty.. as crab net can be thrown all the way down.. dont need us to get down to scoop the crabby.. some people caught some silly crabby when they are floating on the water..

Baked Nectarine ricotta cheesecake few days ago.. mmh..tasted not bad.. not too sweet nor too cheesy.. 8.5/10..

Ingredients:

Cheese mixture

250gm of cream cheese

250gm of light ricotta cheese

2 eggs

¼ cup of white sugar / Honey

2 sliced nectarines

1 tsp of vanilla essence

Based

80gm of unsalted butter

3tps of honey

4 tsp of brown sugar

3 cup of plain flour

4 tsp of vanilla essence

Methods:

For base ~

Preheat oven @ 180 deg C.

Melt butter with brown sugar and honey in pan under medium high heat for approx 2 minutes or till sugar dissolved.

Poured into a bowl, mix in flour and vanilla essence

Baked in over 10 minutes and chilled in fridge while preparing for the cheese mixture.

For cheese mixture ~

Blend cream cheese, ricotta cheese, sugar, vanilla essence and egg (one at a time) in blender till creamy and well mixed.

Add in nectarine and stirred till well mixed.

Pour cheese mixture on base and baked for 50minutes.

Refrigde for approx 2 ~ 4 hours of overnight, served when required.

Perth weather is 37 Deg C today.. wao.. too hot to go out..but.. nice to be @ the beach today for chilling and cooling down .. going to beach this evening.. yeah.. relaxing at home now..

Finally, a year has gone by in an blink of an eye.. many things happened.. for good n for bad.. to summarise.. it for us to experience and learnt from.. alway believe..all things happened for a reason.. n of course..my policy still stand : "ALWAYS LOOK ON THE BRIGHT SIDES OF LIFE"..

You never know a person.. only when you are with the person.. Arr.. that's life.. just got to learn to live with it.. alwayz believe.. you cant change a person "overnight".. as it takes time and years to "nuture" it.. n dont try to be one if you are not.. as the saying goes.. "a leopard cant change it spot = provided it goes for plastic surgery"..haa.. anyway.. dont wana dwell too much on this issue.. wasting too much energy..

Flight to Rottnest

Before the year ended in 2010.. Finally after 2.5years.. went to Rottnest island on a jetplane.. haa.. it was a pleasant and nice exeperience.. enjoyed my time there.. even thou it a small island.. it requires a full day to finish exploring every inch of the island.. main transport - cycling, shuttle bus, eco bus or train.. (will bring my roller blade over next time round).. my fav cafe is there : Dome.. museum.. holy trinity church.. small shopping centre.. rental place for bike.. and some other restaurant.. chalet to stay in.. Main animals: Quokkas, seagulls, houseflies.. birdy.. Nice place to stay over..perhap 2D1N.. relaxing atmosphere.. Might pop by next time round with my blades..

As currently is sch holiday.. nothing much to do.. basically.. hanging out with friends.. working.. activities..etc..

Met up with emilly for dinner @ northbridge.. thought city was open till late on 27th Dec.. as it was PH.. who knows.. reached at 5pm.. almost all the shops in the city are closing.. even the restaurants.. so got to walk around .. n eventually..landed at northbridge.. italian restaurant called "Positano" was recommended by the restaurant owner "Sorrento" who call herself "Mama".. to the opp restaurant as they are fully booked.. Ordered Adratic seafood platter.. Cost $90 buck for 2 pp to share.. portion was just right.. filling but not overloaded.. The platter comprises of Clayfish or lobster (Suppose to be Mortal bay bug - but it was out of stock = arr that's the main reason why i ordered the platter, but the waitress did not tell me that it was out of stock, only when i asked where's my bug.. she said it had being replaced by the lobster) + Oysters + Prawn + Scallops + Squids + Fishes + Mussels + Chips & Salad..

Then after.. headed off to Utopias for bubble teas.. so full till i cant even walked..haa.. had a nice time..

Ytd was planning to go to Yanchep National park - bought huggy along..who knows.. dog r not allow as it's a national park.. ended up..got to back track.. n head to the lagoon instead..but.. it was actually a nice n serene place.. nice blue skies.. with crystal clear water.. not to windy nor to hot.. had a picnic.. when huggy got off the car.. he simply gone bersek again.. ran across the road n headed towards the beach.. my gosh.. he nearly ran down a cliff.. everybody stopped and looked at huggy..when he was ontop of the cliff.. i was so worried that he might actually jump down..u never know what my dog will do.. as he is good in his "stance"..n usual silly performance.. thank God he din't.. i got to call out to him..gently and sweet.. come huggy.. eventually he did.. phew.. what a relieve..

Had a nice time at the beach.. dropped our shoes at the beach.. started walking around.. enjoying the sea breeze.. cooling water..sun... splashing around.. looking for crabs.. halfway through.. realised that we left our shoes "somewhere" on the shore.. and the tides was coming in.. got to scramble back quickly.. to locate our shoes..luckily..managed to get our shoes back in time.. before the wave "swallowed" it.. headed back to the BBQ areas..had a rest.. ran around with hug.. headed to the chocolate factory for ice cream.. to cool ourself down..

Gonna be 31st Dec tml.. new year to come in 24hrs time.. got to make some new year resolution in a min..tml gonna be a good day.. fingercross..my policy still stand:

Christmas - Egg noc cheesecake

Basically, christmas will never be the same w/o your family around.. missed the period whr the whole lim's gang will gather together to celebrate christmas.. exchanging gifts.. chatting.. doing random stuff.. mmh..but..tat's life.. since i'm here.. just gt to make do..

Working on christmas eve, christmas day, boxing day n public holiday.. besides working.. meeting up with friends.. attending lunch n dinner.. colleagues place for gathering and visiting various location for christmas light decos..

Received a couples of gifts..ah.. think ppl here really fancy choco.. or choco is the most common gifts u can ever buy and give to the other.. received so many boxes of choco.. from colleagues... resident families.. friends..

Baked Egg noc cheesecake (Coated with choco & coconut).. forgotten to take a pic.. baked it for friend xmas party..

Ingredients:

500gm of cream cheese

300ml of sour cream

1/2 cup of castor sugar

1 tsp of vanilla essence

1/4 cup of brandy

1/2 tsp of cinnamon / ground nutmeg

3 eggs

Based - Biscuits crushed with butter

Methods:

1) Place the mixed biscuits with butter as base onto the cake tray - refridge

2) Place cheese, sour cream, sugar, vanilla essence, brandy and cinnamon powder in a electric mixed and beat till smooth.

3) Add in one egg at a time

4) Pour the mixture into the cake tray - baked for 1hr or till set. Turn off the oven and cool in the oven with door ajar till room temp. Refridge overnight.

5) Coated with choco coating - 165gm of choco chips + 1/2 cup of milk + 5tsp of butter = mixed and spread over the cake.

Now.. got to think of a place for new year eve count down.. n looking forward for my trip back to SG..

Hurray !! Got my results.. Passed with more than what i have expected.. Thanks God for his all time assistance.. haa.. Now looking forward for the coming year.. new semester..new challenge..

Currently, busy working as it's my sch holiday.. thank god for all the shift he had given me.. mmh.. doesnt matter how many shift i got..so long i can reach my target.. that's fine for me..

Ytd, took a silly video of huggy.. because of food.. he can sacrifice his beautiful coat .. n crawl under the car just to get his food.. haa.. cant believe how greedy a dog can be.. but no matter what.. his still the most beloved dog in the whole wide world.. we might get angry.. unhappy.. with each other..but after a cool down period.. we are best pal again.. whenever I wake up...seeing his sleepy doggy face.. wagging his tail happily @ me.. brightens my day.. xoxo Hug..

Went to burswood.. watched "The nutcracker".. performed by the youth ballet Wa.. overall rating .. 6.5/10.. reason was.. more suitable for young children.. not much storyline.. feel that it's an opportunity for the youth ballerina dancer to show their talents.. those little ballerina are so adorable.. haa.. even though some missed a few move.. but.. their child like.. sweet nature.. cuteness.. covers it all.. liked the last part of the performance..

Catamaran @ south perth

Went catamarans @ south perth, first time experience. Nice, sunny, windy weather. Perfect day for catamarans. Basically, what you gt to do is:

1) Apply lots of sun block - high UV in OZ.

2) Clothes - light clothing

3) So long you are physically fit - able to handle the tacking and gybing, how to trim the sails and take the helm you will be able to set sails..

Initially, was alittle confuse about how to take the helm and manoveurs around, braking, shifting from left to right, getting the right direction, and to trim the sail - beware and becareful of your head, as when the sails is shifted from L to R or likewise, rmb to duck your head under if not you gonna get a bruise or knock on your head..

Had a couple of perfect turn, halfway through, nearly got toppled over as we were going to fast and forgotten about balancing and controlling the sail and helm. Luckily, we quickly shifted ourself back onto the right track. Got a shock of our life, but it was pretty fun and exciting..haa.. couldnt imagine how we can turn the boat back if we really got toppled over.. phew..

When heading back to foreshore, as we are not skilful.. haa.. couldnt gt our catamaran back onto the right track to sail back to shore.. ended up.. the guy from shop gt to sail out on his motor boat to direct us.. haa.. he nearly screamed his head off trying to direct us back.. tink he should just relax.. but.. glad for his direction and guidance on the right place to position our catamaran.. n using the helm.. finally after nearly 30mins of being trapped in water.. we manage to sail safely back to shore.. took us 2 hours instead of 1hr.. din even know that if you move the helm all the way to the end = brake.. haa.. all the time i'm actually braking i/o of sailing.. that's funny.. Important : Understand the wind direction and strength.

Thenafter, washed up and headed for coffee.. Gt a apple crumble and mud cake + Long black & Chai Latte.. Had a fun & tiring day..

Got a new recipe for preparing cabonara sauce - less fattening and healthier choice. I/o using carbonara sauce, use lite thickened cream + egg.. Warm up the thickened cream, when cooled to room temperature, add in beaten egg.. stirred over low heat till well mixed.. but..rmb not to overcook.. if not the sauce will be too eggy and clumpy..

Tasted good.. not to creamy..

Nice having sis over for a holiday in perth.. there's fun n enjoyable n squabbling as usual.. Did a couple of things

Day 1 - arrived in perth (went for supper @ hungry jack)

Day 2 - Went shopping + Dim sum @ dragon palace Brunch (Bought abundant of clothes - as they matches n suits her), Sis cooked dinner (Udon - chinese style)

Chinese style udon -- nice tasted like "hokkien mee"..

Day 3 - Went shopping in city.. sis bought tons of clothes n clothes.. she simply cant get enough of clothes..

Day 4 - Went to Christmas paegant in the City (Carnival + Pool + Pancake place)

Had ice choco n ice coffee @ the cafe (recommended on paper).. Huggy busy eating flies.. believe he's annoyed by those flies.. so he tried his best.. to EAT up all the flies around him.. banging dragging knocking onto the tables.. chair n us..

- Evening, bought hug to freo beach.. windy but fantastic weather.. hug ran freely n wild @ the beach.. interacting with everybody.. human n dog.. drinking sea water.. built sand castles.. just when we were heading back to our car.. it started pouring heavily, got to give hug a quickie bath.. n up into the car.. on our way.. bought nice thick n hot choco from Santurio.. with choco chip cookie.. headed home.. dried ourself n prepared dinner.. bought pizza n drinks.. cant finish "passion pop".. hence decided to give it to hug the next day.. alway thought that whenever u gonna drink (only 8% v/v).. it's important to have some food in the stomach.. who know.. hug vomitted out the drink + food that i fed him.. what a waste.. felt sorry about that.. therefore.. helped to clean him up.. n treat him nicer than before the nxt day..

Day 6 - Met up with Emilly - Went to Ciao italia famous for their homemade pasta n tiramisu dessert.. ordered Calmari n pasta (Penne w/ mushroom, olives, capisicum, wine, tomato based sauce -prefer carbonara style thou.. tasted nice)

After eaten @ Ciao italia - headed to kings park for open cinema called "Moonlight cinema fiesta" .. watched Paranormal activity 2 - weather was chilling, lotsa mosqi.. sis gt bitten all over her fleshy legs.. haa.. boughts some tibits n drink.. had a enjoyable nite.. movie rated 5.5/10.. fed the hungry ducky there..

Day 7 - Went for a swim @ willeton sport complex.. swam about 8 laps.. exhausted but feeling good.. worked out.. haa.. however.. headed to Sizzle for Salad bar after our swim.. Nice salad bar.. healthy.. with a varieties of salads to choose from.. n soup.. pasta.. dessert.. drinks..

- Went for Bonjovi concert @ night - @ patersons stadium.. was pretty crowded.. lotsa of ppl.. all excited and ready for Bon Jovi.. nice experience for a outdoor concert.. some songs are nice - Its my Life, freedom.. Got a Bon jovi T-shirt.. haa.. coolz..

Day 8 - Decided to stay home n chill out..relax.. watch movie (She's a legend), cooked lunch (Homemade beef patties in pitta.. topped wth lettuce, cucumber, mustard, bbq, salt n pepper) --yum yum.. plus side dish "Garlic w/ cheese pizza).. Bought hug out for a walk in the park..

For dinner - Prepared tom yum soup + Oyster sauce chicken + Veg + Noodles.. although the dishes looks almost identical (As they are the same color to me).. tasted nice.. sis wanted HOME COOKED food.. so we gt to cook.. no rice as usual.. as we dont like rice.. haa..

Day 9 - Went over to friend place for dinner.. mmh.. scrumptous grilled cheesy prawn, garlic butter prawn, garlic bread, sauced cumcumber + cherries pancakes w/ sour cream and mixxed berries sauce.. played x-box game..we r the winner.. haa.. then after.. headed to leederville for cakes.. bought "Choco hazelnut triangles + Mulberry crumble cake".. nice n delicious..

Day 10 - Wanted to bring sis to visit bell tower in the city.. as it was their 10th Anniversary.. free entrance.. however.. came back home from work.. she's still watching youtube as usual.. laz back style.. cant wait for her.. headed to buy some stuff.. came back home.. still as laz as ever.. had small squabbling.. wanted to go for some korean bbq.. but one was closed down..the other require booking as it was weekend.. ended up.. no korean bbq... no bell tower.. tempted mood.. finally when cooled down.. headed to nandos.. had extra hot 2 platter meal.. with spicy rice n chip.. mmmh.. indeed hot n spicy.. cant even feel our tongue.. haa.. but enjoyed..

Reached home.. decided to walk around the areas to experience the christmas festive mood.. to see the christmas lights.. they hv it yearly.. during christmas season..where the resident will decorate the exterior of their house..with christmas decos.. hoping to be the christmas light winner.. of the year.. bought hug along.. enjoyed the walked.. interesting to see all the different decos.. however.. there isn't much participant this year in comparison to last year.. Was happily walking around.. looking at the decos.. n houses.. n taking random shots of huggy.. infront of that big snoppy dog.. out of sudden.. hug gone berserk again.. ran away.. sniffing n exploring the houses nearby.. Sis n I..went chasing after him.. called out.. ignored my command.. ran across a small road.. nearly gt knocked by car.. thank God the car stopped for him.. hug ignored the car too.. ran all the way to the park.. (think he is paying the ducky in the pond a visit, or thinking of going for a swim in the pond again).. it was so dark.. cant even see where's hug.. called out again.. luckily he's white in color..if not.. i believe.. we'll nv be able to find him in the dark.. gave hug a BIG scolding + punishment for running away.. cross the road w/o looking out for the car.. I suppose.. he's helping us to digest our food.. giving both of us a run after dinner.. tiring but it's an experience for both sis n him.. for me.. i'm kind of getting use to him running away.. mmh..what can i say.. he's still a puppy.. 1.5yrs.. ppl said.. a dog will b more well behaved when he's 3-5 yrs old.. aiyo.. I still have few more years to go..before he reached his maturity age.. pls help.. but.. by saying that.. it was lovely n great to hv hug in my family.. kind of brighten my days.. with both.. happy n terrible memorable memories.. haa.. hoho..

Day 11 - Day where sis is going back to Sg.. Just right before we are to leave.. checking on net some random stuff.. sis realised that she missed her flight.. ha.. initially.. when i first heard it.. found it amusing n hilarious.. as this kind of thing doesnt happen often.. she was suppose to be on the flight back to Sg ytd night @ 2135.. however.. same time ytd night.. we were busy chasing huggy.. as he ran away to pay the park a visit while we are strolling thru the christmas decos around our areas.. no wonder huggy ran away.. haa..he wanted to warn us that my sis flight had "ran away" too.. so immediately.. we checked online for any ticket avail.. called the airline.. cant change the ticket as it was considered forfeited.. no hope.. ended up.. gt to buy another ticket back to SG.. the cost of the total ticket for sis to visit perth is equalibrium for her to take SQ to perth.. i/o tiger..haa..poor girl.. help her..but instalment still apply..

After sorting out the neccessary stuff.. decided to head to Icy ice to cool ourself down.. on our way.. still find it hilarious.. gt reprimanded by dad.. haa.. felt heart pain.. cant help it.. moral of the story..be more careful n cautious.. n more responsible ... not alway take life for granted..

Tiramisu - baked for my colleague

Hi.. Baked "tiramisu" for my colleague as requested.. haa.. in exchange they prepared Chicken briyani and choco cake for me..

Classic Tiramisu

Ingredients:

250gm of low fat cream cheese

250gm of low fat ricotta cheese

50ml of vanilla custard

2 tps of icing sugar

2/4 of coffee liqueur essence (Cafe de crème)

1 cup of coffee

250gm of sponge finger
Cocoa powder

Methods:

Mixed coffee and coffee liqueur essence (or kaular) in a bowl.

1) Soak sponge finger in the mixture, and place it on the loaf pan.

2) Blend cream cheese, ricotta cheese, vanilla custard, icing sugar with 1 tsp of coffee liqueur essence till smooth and creamy.

Pour in the cheese mixture on top of the sponge finger.

Repeat the steps 1 and 2 till loaf pan is filled up.
Sprinkles cocoa powder on top..

Refridge overnight, and serve.

Mmmh.. taste not bad..

Life is pretty mundane.. work.. outing.. playing with hug..

Went to burswood - 88 Noodle bar.. its a newly open restaurant located in the casino.. served a mix of chinese, indian, nonya cuisine..

Had pad-thai flat noodle, yangzhou fried rice, kuep lapis (w/ pandan sauce and coconut icecream).. the main dish tasted alrite, except for the dessert.. alittle tough.. overall rating: 7/10

Grandma apple pie

Ingredients

175g of butter (chopped)

2 Egg yolks

¼ tsp of sugar

2 tsp of cinnamon powder

2 tsp of vanilla essence

2 cup of plain flour

Fillings:

4 apples (granny smiths)

2 tsp of sugar/ honey

2 tsp of cinnamon powder

2 tsp of vanilla essence

2 tsp of water

Gelatine needed

Methods:

Preheat oven to 190 Deg C.

Blend in egg yolks, sugar, vanilla essence, cinnamon powder.

Add into flour and mixed well, add in butter, rubbed onto mixture till breadcrumb like.

Roll into dough form and refridge for 30mins. Cut out 2/3 of dough to form the base pastry.

Place in oven, place baking paper on top of pastry with rice/bean and baked for 10mins.

Remove rice/bean, heat for additional 10mins or till brown. Cool on rack.

Filling:

Peeled apples, boiled till apples are tender /soft. Mixed cinnamon powder, vanilla essence, sugar in a

bowl. Add in apples, mixed well, cool and add onto the baked pastry.

Roll out the balance dough as a the top/cover for the pastry. Place on top of the pastry and baked

for approx 30 – 45 mins or till golden brown. Used the balance egg white and brush it across the top.

Attended church service ytd, felt the worship ministry over there is pretty "dry".. alway believe.. how the congregration turn out to be.. dependent on how the worship team portrait themselves.. how they sing.. esp with the right spirit.. *holy spirit*.. that's where it'll bring the whole congregration together.. to worship wholeheartedly for God.. It true that we shldnt judge how ppl dress to church..but.. seriously.. feel that when one goes to church.. they shld dress appropriately.. eg.. do not wear "tong".. that's kind of inappropriate.. but what can i say.. that's how they dress up.. However, beside saying that.. Pastor Dawson did a great job.. he preaches with lives.. joy.. n truly.. you can feel that God is working through him.. to touch individual soul.. through the words and action.. speech.. Why do we celebrate christmas? what's the main purpose of christmas? It's not about drinking.. gathering.. merrying.. partying.. just another festival.. holiday.. it's all about Jesus.. for all to ponder about.. *.^

Looking forward for this coming week.. haa.. even thou many work shift to do.. but... that's life..

Had a mini gathering with some friends @ burswood..finally exam had ended and 2 yrs in uni.. time flies.. in an blink of an eyes.. 2 yrs had gone by quick..

As recommended on websites.. about nice steak in Victoria station steakhouse.. mmh.. tasted.. not really up to expectation.. prefer the steak place @ Old swan brewery.. still the best steak in perth as per now.. Rate 6/10...

Updates of my new recipes:

Banana and Raisin Bread Pudding

Ingredients:

1 cup of bread (2 slices) - chopped

1 banana - chopped

2 tsp of brown sugar

2/3 of milk

1 egg

1 - 2 tsp of cinnamon

30gm of butter (melted)

Methods:

Preheat oven @ 180 Deg C.

Mixed egg, sugar, milk and butter.

Add in chopped bread and banana. Mixed well. Placed mixture into a rankins and on a tray. Add in hot water till ½ of the rankin bowl.

Baked for 30 – 45 mins till golden brown and cooked.

Finally, exam had ended.. last paper was a 2hr essay writting.. wrote non-stop.. at the end of my paper.. felt numbness on my hand.. luckily the stadium was airconditioned.. if not.. we will all be melting like icecream.. weather was sky high of 39 Degc.. Prayfully.. done my best.. God will do the rest.. mmh.. (-.~,)..

Perth weather is getting from hot to hotter + humid.. cant believe.. it's only coming to end of spring.. the temp has already reach 39 Deg.. mmh.. pro during Summer.. will be even higher than 40++..

In perth.. nothing much to do..basically.. chilling out with friends.. eat.. walk hug.. work.. exercise (swimming... blading.. etc..)..

Visited this place called "Red Cabbage".. tasted one of the nicest cheesecake in perth... Peanutbutter cheesecake with caramel.. although I'm not a fans of peanut.. but it wasnt that bad.. not too creamy.. or cheesy or nutty.. or sweet.. smooth n melt in your mouth.. nice.. The hazelnut choco moose doesnt taste as good as the peanutbutter cheesecake..

Baked tofu cheesecake (But it doesnt contain cheese)..

Ingredients:

2 X 300g of firm tofu

1 egg

1/4 sugar

6 tps of lemon juice

2 tps of lemon rind

Base:

250g of biscuits (scrotch/ marie biscuits crushed)

80 - 100g of unsalted butter

Methods:

Prepared base - placed in on the pan (lined with baking paper)

Preheat oven - 180 degc

Blend tofu + egg + sugar .. till creamy.. add in lemon juice + lemon rind .. blend till well mixed..
Pour in over base and heat for approx 35 -40mins, or till cake became wobbly and firm.. Refridge overnight and serve..

Really hope things can be sorted out.. dont like to be force into doing things i felt that i'm restricted.. this is the first time in my life it happened.. not sure is it for good or for bad.. perth ??..

Finally, I got time to sit and update my blog.. had been a while since I last updated.. busy with assignment, prac, work.. etc...

Prac at Joondalup ward finally ended.. 1 week prac.. worth it.. although it requires me to travel a total of 2.5hrs to n fro.. more interesting than the one at RPH as I got to experience LIVE performance in the theatre.. was an eye opening experiences.. get to see various surgery.. such as Laproscopic gastric band, vasectomy, ileostomy, colostomy, removal of lesion, casearan (interesting as the doc disect @ the Lower abdominal area --> longitudinal section of the adipose tissue & muscles --> Slimy peritoneum layer --> Pry open the muscles --> using forcep and hands to pull the baby out from the tummy).. too bad picture not allowed.. I even got the opportunity to cut open the sigmon colon to examine and analyse what's a 'diverticulitis'.. was reading about it.. and one resident in the nursing home is alway reciting about it that she had diverticulitis (but due to her dementia - she does not know what it mean..haa)..

Diverticulitis = Inflammation of the intestinal areas, due to various reason such as constipation, undigested food, built up of colonial bacteria, prolong causes the area to be inflammed and holes in the pocket..

Submitted my last assignment today.. a relieve indeed.. checked with my tutor..she said it was fine.. phew.. dislike writing essay..but.. cant help it..that's life..

Did a refreshment course on scuba diving - as usual.. scared when equalising..due to trauma since Tioman with B2 aka CD.. but.. when u r down under.. nice and serene .. OZ water --> white as snow.. did shipwreck dive @ Rockingham.. manage to see a couple of "shipwreck" + "abandon tyres" + fishy + coral + seahorses.. mmh.. conclusion -- tropical water are better.. as they hv more colorful fishes.. n coral.. but in OZ water..more "sharks".. din c any while diving.. haa

Gastroenteric @ work place + sunset @ Freo Dog beach

Recently, there's an outbreak of Gastroenteric @ work.. up to 3/4 of the resident caught the virus.. caused by one resident.. who met up with her relative from America.. caught the virus.. infected up to approx. 50 resident. incredible indeed.. source of spreading - Human, Airborne, Food, Poor hygiene.. etc.. Scary.. ended up.. resident got diarrhoea.. vomitting.. nausea.. fever.. chilling.. aching.. Carer got to gown up when entering their room.. n mask to be put on when interacting with infected resident.. Make it harder to breathe as the facility is pretty warm + humid.. especially when u are busy.. carrying out ADL, dining, washing, cleaning.. serving.. Pity those old ppl.. due to dementia.. some dont even know what's happening.. everybody got to stay in their respectives room.. not to loiter around the facility or out of their room.. After 2 weeks of battling with the gastro issue, finally some improvement... due to stringent hygiene control, cleaning, medication.. many resident had recovered from the flu...

Just cleaned up a couple of resident who are down with gastro.. smell really makes one feel sick.. just got back from work.. got a headaches after breathing in the foul smell.. cant help it.. not their fault.. it the virus.. haiyo.. gt to rest now.. taken panadol n heading to bed soon..

End of RPH prac - Surgery ward for Orthopaedic

Got into RPH for my 10 days prac @ the Orthopaedic ward.. Was a fun, pleasant, enjoyable, and learnt lots in for this prac.. seen many pt in ward who had spinal injuries, foot, pelvic, #LNOF, bacteria infection, MRSA, VRE, MVA, old and young.. learnt about different kinds of medication and drugs, ADL, bladder scan, Catheter, wound dressing, Vac dressing, IV, PICC line, CVC (Central venous catheter), IN push, gelonet dressing, etc.. Met many nice and helpful nurses.. taught and learnt alot from them.. the most interesting day was on the last day of prac.. just right before heading off.. decided to head back to ward to bid farewell to the nurses in ward.. To my surprise.. ED happened.. one pt wife got into seizure, in a sec.. the nurses get the cardiac machine ready, chairs and bed removed, BP machine, doctor and nurses came to help.. IV line in, BP taken, recovery position, socks or any tight object removed, hudson mask on, injected some medication for stabilisation, check conscious level, when pt BP has stabilised, check of pt arousability, alertness and orientation, shortly, sent pt to the ED department for treatment.

While walking around in the city, one ABOR woman came walking by (Drunk).. knocked into emilly and accused Emilly for knocking onto her.. quarrel started.. ABor splashed the bottle of beer onto emilly.. got angry.. chased after her.. into jewellery shop.. Passer by stopped ... Pulled emilly away.. n off we go..dont wana anybody to get injury.. as the saying goes.. Do not squabble with a angry person.. After all the commotion.. decided to head for some nice lunch/dinner.. @ King st... The Burger bistro.. nice burger.. ordered Embella cheese burger + Mushroom burger + Chips.. Tink the burger @ Jus burger tasted better... although the burger is about the same size..

Nxt week, starting my prac in RPH.. Surgical ward.. sounds interesting and exciting.. believe there's much to learn from.. finger cross - everything will be fine.. Duty of care..

Went to Ciao Italia.. as usual..place as crowded..surprising shop open @ 5pm.. use to open @ 6pm.. Food prepared by Italia chef.. nice n friendly boss.. pasta n pizza portion.. huge + creamy + tasty + cheesy.. Dessert.. only tiramisu is nice.. the rest.. std drop.. but.. will patronise the outlet again..

Attended friend birthday party - took me an hour to reach there.. tired.. but..no choice..as promised gt to go..
